Thuraya and Scortel supports Boyan Petrov’s project 14x8000 (fourteen peaks over 8, 000 metres)
Boyan Petrov, one of the most popular and successful alpinists, is quite close to his dream and is going to be the first Bulgarian climber to conquer all fourteen peaks over 8, 000 meters without the use of supplemental oxygen. Among his great achievements is the fact that only within 8 days he succeeded in climbing of Broad Peak and K2 setting by this way a world record and proving to be an outstanding example of human endeavor. This success did not go unnoticed by the mountaineering legend Reinhold Messner who greeted Boyan for his success with a video message made especially for him. In his book “The first 7” Boyan made his supporters close to his experiences on the way to the summits of the world.
Considering the fact that Boyan has some challenging health issues his achievements look even more impressive. Nearly year ago he suffered heavy injuries from a car accident but remaining true to his passion he quickly recovered.
His strong spirit and extreme determination are his inner power and drive him to the next highest points on earth.
Now, Boyan is again ready to prove the strength of his spirit by heading to Gashebrum ІІ peak, located on the border of Pakistan and China.
This is his second attempt to conquer the peak after the first try in 2009.
Scortel supports Boyan Petrov’s project 14x8000 (fourteen peaks over 8, 000 metres) as a provider of a Thuraya mobile satellite services to make calls and access internet from the mountain slopes.
