In June 2021 the technial team of SCORTEL passed a technical training and certification course for installation and commissioning of the new satellite system LT-3100S GMDSS. The certification was performed by the international company AST (Applied Satellite Technology Ltd, UK) - a global provider of satellite communication solutions and an approved Iridium GMDSS partner. AST is a strategic partner of SCORTEL in the field of maritime and landmobile radiocommunication and satellite systems.
LT-3100S GMDSS, manufactured by Lars Thrane A/S (Denmark), is the first approved satellite terminal using the new Iridium GMDSS system, which is a competitive alternative to Inmarsat-C. LT-3100S GMDSS is a complete All-In-One terminal, working in the Iridium global coverage and offering all services and functionalities for SOLAS satellite system - Distress Alert, Distress Voice, Maritime Safety Information, Distress Alert Relay, Safety Voice, Safety Message, SSAS, LRIT. It also includes modern functionalities for integration with vessel bridge systems like ECDIS and BAM (Bridge Alert Management). The LT-3100S GMDSS has all major type approvals and certifications, including MED Wheelmark.
The certification of our team enables SCORTEL to offer LT-3100S GMDSS as a complete solution, including delivery, installation, activation and commissioning of the satellite system.
